Where Creativity Meets Technology

STEAM adds Arts to the STEM framework โ€” because the best problem solvers are also creative thinkers, and the best artists understand how things work.

What is STEAM? Our Purpose
What is STEAM

Five Disciplines. One Creative Mindset.

STEAM stands for Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics โ€” four interconnected fields that shape how we understand and build the world. But more than a curriculum, STEAM adds something essential โ€” the recognition that creativity, design, and human expression are not separate from science and technology. They make it complete.

S

Science

Understanding the natural world through observation, experimentation, and evidence. Science teaches us to ask why โ€” and to keep asking until we find an honest answer.

T

Technology

The tools and systems we build to solve problems. From basic computer skills to AI to cybersecurity โ€” technology is the fastest-changing field in modern life.

E

Engineering

Designing and building real solutions to real problems. Engineering is the bridge between knowing something and doing something with that knowledge.

M

Math

The language of patterns, logic, and relationships. Math is the foundation everything else is built on โ€” and one of the most transferable skills anyone can develop.

A

Arts

Design thinking, visual communication, creative expression, and storytelling. The Arts are what make technology intuitive, products beautiful, and solutions human. STEAM recognizes that analytical and creative minds working together produce the best results.

Our Purpose

Why This Exists

I'm Ben Linkous โ€” a retired Army Master Sergeant from Pulaski, Virginia. After decades of service I transitioned into technology, education, and community work. What I found was a gap: STEM resources that actually meet people where they are.

Not everyone is headed to a four-year engineering program. But everyone deserves access to the curiosity, the tools, and the pathways that STEM provides. Link2STEAM is my attempt to help close that gap โ€” for kids in the NRV, for veterans in transition, for educators who need better resources, and for anyone who still has the drive to learn something new.

Creativity and curiosity don't have an age limit. Neither does STEAM.
